After spending a lot of time lately decluttering clients’ homes, we’ve decided to add another installment to our “Things You Think You Need But Don’t” series.
Do you still have that sorbet maker that Oprah recommended or that Star Wars waffle iron? Consider this inspiration for your decluttering jumping off point. We dare you to go ahead and donate, dump, shred or recycle any of the items below, which were found recently in our clients’ homes:
Dried up flowers and (an excess of) clear florist vases
Dated reference books
Pens with no ink
Broken sunglasses or glasses with outdated prescriptions
Old loofahs
Take out menus
Finished coloring books
Wrinkled wrapping paper and crushed bows
VHS workout tapes
Used ink cartridges
Almost empty bottles of bubbles or little nubs of sidewalk chalk
Last season’s sunblock
Holiday decor you don’t use (or like)
Carpet remnants
Cookbooks you haven't even cracked open
